Moisturizer ... Does He Need It?

Dr. Sheilagh gets clear on moisturizer and why you need it if you hope to destroy acne for good.

Question: If I have acne and oily skin, do I still need to moisturize?

Answer:
Even if you have oily, acne prone skin using a moisturizer is still important.  Regular moisturization of your skin helps to seal your skin barrier: helping to prevent dryness and irritation.  It's even more crucial to moisturize if you are using any active ingredients - like adapalene or salicylic acid to treat your acne.  These acne-fighting actives work by speeding up how your skin sheds and breaking up c logged pores - which can lead to dryness and irritation.  This is exactly why we formulated our Calm Down moisturizer especially for teens and boys - it's non-comedogenic (ie: won't make acne works) and actually fights bacteria and reduces inflammation while soothing your skin barrier.
